The Bureau of Citizenship & Immigration Services (BCIS) was formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). The BCIS is committed to promote and protect national security, eliminate immigration backlogs, and develop ways to improve immigration customer services, including family-based petitions for permanent residency and work, petitions for temporary employment, asylum and refugee processing, petitions for citizenship, and issuing or renewing eligibility documents.

SERVICES: Processing of applications, including renewal of green cards (Form 1.90). Applications for naturalization, permanent residency, and status adjustments require an FBI fingerprint background check. These support services require an appointment.
HOURS: Open - Tuesday - Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Closed - Sunday, Monday, and Federal holidays. |

SERVICES: Reviews and approves requests for asylum in a way that is fair, timely, and consistent with the law and international humanitarian principles. Applications must be mailed to the Texas Service Center in Mesquite, TX. After your application is received and processed, you will be notified where to go for your asylum interview.
